Framer Secures €85.6M at €1.7B Valuation to Grow No-Code Web Platform

Amsterdam-based Framer has raised €85.6 million in Series D funding, valuing the company at €1.7 billion. The startup plans to expand in the US, invest in AI, and strengthen its product and sales teams.

Framer, a no-code website platform, announced the completion of a Series D round worth €85.6 million. The deal, which values the company at €1.7 billion, was led by returning investors Meritech and Atomico, with further backing from WiL and HV Capital. According to founders Koen Bok and Jorn van Dijk, the fundraising was initiated by investors who saw the company’s growth and customer adoption as a clear opportunity.


Platform Capabilities and Market Position

Founded in 2014, Framer allows marketing and design teams to create, launch, and manage websites without relying on engineering resources. The platform includes a responsive design canvas, built-in CMS, A/B testing tools, funnel analytics, enterprise-level security, and real-time collaboration features. Initially launched as a prototyping tool, Framer has since evolved into a full-scale web development platform used by companies such as Perplexity, Scale AI, Mixpanel, and Miro.

The startup reports powering hundreds of thousands of websites and attracting more than half a million monthly users. Notably, nearly half of the latest Y Combinator cohort built their marketing sites on Framer, highlighting its growing adoption among high-growth startups.


Financial Stability and Growth Strategy

Framer has achieved break-even status over the past year, which the founders say played a significant role in securing investor-led financing. The fresh capital will support expansion across the United States, increased investment in AI-driven features, and the scaling of both product and go-to-market operations.

One of the latest enhancements, on-page editing, allows teams to adjust text, visuals, and layouts without entering the full CMS, reflecting Framer’s effort to streamline workflows for professional teams.


Competing in a Crowded Market

While the website-building sector includes established players like Wix and Squarespace, Framer is focusing on professional-grade marketing websites that require speed, scalability, and strong design capabilities. The founders emphasize that their platform closes the gap between user-friendly site builders and developer-heavy workflows, aiming to become the go-to solution for brand-focused digital presence.


Global Footprint and Next Steps

With teams based in Amsterdam, San Francisco, New York, and Barcelona, Framer is preparing for a series of product announcements later this year. The founders describe the company’s next chapter as one focused on making the platform faster, more flexible, and more enjoyable to use, underscoring its ambition to position itself as the leading no-code platform for professional websites.
