MILAN — Cosmico secured €12 million in a Series B funding round led by Milan-based venture capital firm P101 SGR, with continued financial participation from Prana Ventures, the digital talent platform said on Tuesday. The fresh capital injection will support the company's corporate expansion plans and its ongoing strategy within the European freelance market, per the official funding announcement distributed by the firm.

During the 2025 fiscal year, Cosmico reported total revenues reaching €24 million, representing a 109 percent year-over-year increase compared to the previous annual period, according to official company financial data. The Milan startup currently provides corporate clients with direct access to a managed network of over 35,000 digital professionals located throughout Italy and Spain, positioning itself distinctively from traditional open-access freelancer platforms that lack managed oversight.

Alongside the Series B round, Cosmico finalized the acquisition of Flatmates, a domestic creator-economy agency, completing the transaction ahead of its original internal schedule. Francesco Marino, co-founder of Cosmico, said the firm has evolved into a holding company operating 5 distinct business verticals through strategic transactions of this scale. The startup aims to execute 3 additional company acquisitions before the final quarter of 2025 to solidify its regional market presence, company records show.

The aggressive acquisition strategy places Cosmico in direct competition with 4 established industry rivals, including digital platforms Malt and Worksome, alongside traditional employment and staffing agencies like Gi Group and Adecco that maintain significant operations across Italy and Spain. Unlike standard staffing agencies, Cosmico deploys a managed service model utilizing technology to match corporate brands with content creators and specialized artificial intelligence project managers, corporate executives said in a statement.

Stefano Guidotti, partner at P101 SGR, said the financial results reported over the last 2 years validated the venture firm's initial investment thesis concerning corporate labor adaptability. The newly acquired €12 million and completed corporate buyouts will help Cosmico further develop its technology stack and expand its service portfolio across southern Europe before the current fiscal year concludes entirely.
