This innovative company aims to address the prevalent communication failures in the construction industry by converting verbal conversations into structured project records.
Addressing Communication Challenges
Founded in 2025, Hardline focuses on one of the industry’s most pressing issues: the loss of critical information due to poor communication between job sites and office systems. According to reports, the construction sector incurs losses amounting to tens of billions annually due to incomplete documentation and ineffective communication.
Karly Heffernan, a recognized figure in the industry and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, emphasized, “The problem has never been that supers and PMs don’t know what’s happening on their jobs—it’s that they spend half their day documenting it after the fact.” This is where Hardline steps in, making it easier for field crews to document their work directly through phone conversations.
Innovative Technology Integration
The platform captures conversations from jobsite phone calls and onsite discussions, automatically transforming them into structured documentation, including RFIs, punch lists, and daily logs. It integrates seamlessly with existing construction software such as Procore, Autodesk, and Hilti’s Fieldwire, and supports both English and Spanish for field teams.
Market Position and Competitors
While Hardline faces competition from companies like OpenSpace and Buildots, it aims to carve a niche by focusing on voice data, a largely overlooked aspect of project intelligence. The startup is already active in ten U.S. states and two countries, providing services to commercial contractors and specialty trades.
