This fresh capital has propelled the company to unicorn status, with a valuation now exceeding $1 billion. Founded in 2018, SendCutSend revolutionizes the manufacturing process by allowing customers to upload designs, receive instant quotes, and order precision-cut metal parts that are shipped within as little as two days.

Unconventional Hiring Practices Drive Diversity

**Jim Belosic**, the founder and CEO, has attracted attention not only for the company’s innovative approach but also for its unique hiring practices. Belosic has been vocal about the manufacturing skills gap, asserting that many companies are reluctant to train new workers. His hiring strategy focuses on diverse backgrounds, employing individuals from various sectors, including donut shops and Dollar Tree, to fill roles in manufacturing.

“Relying on someone else, like schools or the government, to create skilled labor means you’re going to be waiting a while. Just do it yourself,” Belosic stated in a viral Twitter post. He emphasizes that the labor supply is vast if companies are willing to invest in on-the-job training. As a result, SendCutSend has seen a notable representation of women across all company sectors, including marketing, production, and shipping.

Commitment to US Jobs and Facilities

The $110 million funding round also includes a commitment from SendCutSend to invest $1 billion over five years into US jobs and facilities. This investment will prioritize expanding current locations and establishing new high-tech manufacturing hubs across the country. The initiative aims to counteract the projected 2.1 million unfilled manufacturing jobs by 2030, as reported by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute.

Belosic believes that the future of manufacturing lies in adaptability and speed. With the new funds, the company is on track to hire 500 employees by July 2026, with plans to expand product offerings to meet the evolving demands of various industries.
