For instance, ALOE, an Italian startup established in 2023, offers a marketplace that allows hotels to easily sell services and organized local experiences, streamlining guest bookings.
Another notable contender, ALTEK AI, based in Norway, focuses on automating customer service for hotels, directly integrating with existing systems to enhance guest interactions. Similarly, Controlá from Spain provides smart devices for energy management, promoting sustainability in vacation rentals and offices. Each of these startups, alongside others like Cumbaya, HostyAI, and Via.ai, highlighted the potential for technological advancements to transform the travel experience.
A Competitive Judging Panel
The judging panel for the competition included industry experts and venture capitalists such as Michael Morvan from ROCH Ventures and Elena Ruiz Requena from Amadeus Ventures. Their deliberation underscored the high level of competition, reflecting the innovative spirit present at this year’s summit. The winner, ReLUGG, was awarded a comprehensive prize package that includes significant Google Cloud credits, discounts on various software tools, and a complimentary exhibition booth at the next summit.
ReLUGG: Addressing Luggage Woes
Founded in 2024, ReLUGG is tackling a common issue faced by travelers: the stress of delayed or lost luggage. By partnering with airlines, the startup provides rapid compensation and delivers essential items to passengers who experience luggage issues within 30 minutes of their arrival. Their model operates on a pay-per-use basis for airlines, eliminating upfront costs and long-term contracts. The technology seamlessly integrates with airline systems, facilitating an efficient user experience.
The CEO of ReLUGG, Melilizwe Gqobo, expressed the significance of their win, stating that the competition victory represents a crucial step for their company. He emphasized the opportunity the prize offers in advancing their product development, thanking the other innovative participants who competed alongside them.
