Prada Group Chairman Patrizio Bertelli confirmed that his son Lorenzo Bertelli will eventually assume the position of CEO, with the process already set in motion.
Succession Plan Announced
Luxury fashion house Prada Group has unveiled its long-term succession strategy. Chairman Patrizio Bertelli stated that his son Lorenzo Bertelli will step into the CEO role in the future. At present, Andrea Guerra serves as CEO, but the family is preparing a gradual transition. According to Bertelli, initiating this process is essential for the company’s stability and continuity, and his son will receive full support during this shift.
A Journey Through Key Roles
Lorenzo Bertelli, son of Patrizio Bertelli and Miuccia Prada Bianchi, joined the company in 2017 as Head of Digital Communication. Over the years, he has held several significant positions, including Marketing Director in 2019 and Corporate Social Responsibility Director in 2020. In April 2024, he was elected as an Executive Director during the group’s annual shareholders’ meeting. Currently, he manages the company’s marketing strategies, corporate communications, and sustainability initiatives. Beyond these roles, he also sits on the boards of Prada Holding SpA and other affiliated entities.
Balancing Family and Professional Management
While Andrea Guerra continues as CEO, Patrizio Bertelli emphasized the importance of combining professional governance with family legacy. He highlighted that Guerra’s leadership, together with Raf Simons serving as Co-Creative Director, has reassured the markets and stakeholders about the company’s strategic direction. This structured approach ensures both continuity and investor confidence, while gradually preparing Lorenzo for executive leadership.
Financial Outlook Reflects Mixed Performance
The leadership discussion comes amid strong financial results. In the first half of 2025, Prada Group reported net revenue of €2.74 billion, representing a 9 percent increase year-on-year. Retail sales climbed to €2.45 billion, a 10 percent growth across global markets. However, brand performance varied: Prada saw a 2 percent decline in retail sales, while Miu Miu posted a significant 49 percent increase, strengthening its position as a growth driver within the group.
This announcement positions Lorenzo Bertelli at the center of Prada Group’s future leadership, combining family heritage with corporate governance as the company continues to expand globally.
