Intuos raises €720K to modernize safety in small aircraft

Intuos secures €720K to digitise general aviation operations

Italian aviation tech startup Intuos has raised €720,000 to bring modern, data-driven fleet management and safety monitoring to flight schools and small aircraft operators—an aviation segment founders say still relies on fragmented, outdated processes.

The round included backing from Argo (an accelerator supported by CDP Venture Capital and Italy’s Ministry of Tourism), Techstars Transformative World Torino, Ventive, and a group of business angels. The company is based at L’Aquila’s Aeroporto dei Parchi.

US expansion after growth in Europe and South Africa

Intuos said it will use the new capital to upgrade its technology and accelerate entry into the US, following expansion across Europe and South Africa. In late 2025, the startup signed a distribution agreement with Absolute Aviation Parts, an official distributor for Textron Aviation brands including Beechcraft, Cessna, Hawker, and Textron eAviation in Central and Southern Africa.

Martin Olczyk, Managing Director at Techstars Transformative World Torino, said the decision to back founders Carolina Gianardi and Vito Tedeschi was driven by their decades of aviation experience and Tedeschi’s perspective as a pilot. He argued that while commercial aviation has advanced rapidly, general aviation still lacks comparable standards for safety, data visibility, and operational efficiency.

Hardware plus software for real-time monitoring

Founded in Rome, Intuos combines a software suite called The Manager—covering flight planning and maintenance—with patented IoT devices that collect real-time telemetry, engine performance data, and pilot behaviour signals. The company says this creates a unified loop between in-flight activity and back-office operations, reducing manual uploads and improving consistency across records.

The founders said non-commercial aviation is undergoing rapid change, and that structured control over training, operations, and fleet management is increasingly critical. They added that their platform is protected by two patents, including one covering 158 countries.
