Blockbrain secures €17.5 million to scale enterprise AI agents
Blockbrain, a Stuttgart-based GenAI agent platform focused on capturing and operationalising enterprise knowledge, has raised €17.5 million in Series A funding. The company said the capital will be used to strengthen platform security and governance, develop specialised AI agents, and expand across Europe and the UK.
The round was led by Alstin Capital and 13books Capital, with participation from the HARTING Family Foundation. Existing backers Giesecke+Devrient Ventures, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg Ventures, and Mätch VC also increased their commitments. Blockbrain said total funding to date now stands at €23 million.
Turning tacit expertise into “Knowledge Bots”
Co-founder and CEO Antonius Gress said companies lose know-how daily because complex decision logic is rarely captured systematically. Blockbrain aims to digitise expertise, processes, and decision-making logic into “digital knowledge twins” that can be deployed as Knowledge Bots across teams and locations, typically within weeks.
Founded in 2022 by Antonius Gress, CTO Mattias Protzmann (a co-founder of Statista), and Nam Hai Ngo, the company positions its no-code platform as a response to skilled-worker shortages and inefficiencies in knowledge-heavy workflows. It reported a fivefold revenue increase in 2025 and counts customers including Roland Berger, Bosch and Bosch Rexroth, Kärcher, Harting, and Seifert Logistics Group.
Security, compliance, and reliability as differentiators
CTO Mattias Protzmann said the platform’s approach prioritises data sovereignty and compliance from day one, arguing that enterprise deployments require transparency beyond model performance claims. The company plans features including model fallback mechanisms to improve answer availability and reliability, plus new agent and research workflows to automate knowledge building.
Blockbrain also plans to hire Forward-Deployed AI Engineers to support customer implementations and integrations, both remotely and on-site.
