Vantiva and CommScope have recently made headlines by achieving an impressive download speed of 13Gbps with a single DOCSIS 4.0 modem. The DOCSIS 4.0 standard, which is the latest in cable internet technology, allows for a minimum of five downstream Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) channels to deliver internet service. However, Vantiva has taken it a step further by enabling its DOCSIS 4.0 modems to support up to seven downstream OFDM channels. This is accomplished by utilizing an additional 384 MHz of spectrum in cable networks that can support bandwidths of up to 1.8GHz. The enhanced performance not only benefits internet service providers by allowing them to offer premium service tiers but also significantly improves the user experience with faster downloads and reduced lag times.
