Uplift360 lands €7.4M seed to scale composite regeneration
UK/Luxembourg startup Uplift360 has raised an oversubscribed €7.4 million seed round to accelerate the regeneration of high-value composite materials across Europe. The financing was led by Extantia, with participation from the NATO Innovation Fund, Promus Ventures, and Fund F.
UK pilot line planned for 2026
The company said the new capital will fund its first pilot-scale production line in the UK, scheduled for 2026. The facility is intended to enable higher-volume processing and real-world validation with customers across aerospace, defence, energy and automotive markets. Uplift360 also plans to deepen collaborations with industrial partners including Rolls-Royce, Babcock and Leonardo, while expanding R&D into new applications and performance improvements.
Addressing Europe’s composite supply and waste problem
Advanced composites such as carbon fibre, aramids and hybrid laminates underpin modern aircraft, defence systems, wind turbines and high-performance vehicles. Yet much of Europe’s end-of-life composite material is still burned or buried, even as manufacturers face shortages of virgin fibres due to constrained supply, geopolitical pressures and rising demand.
Chemical regeneration aimed at “virgin-quality” output
Uplift360, founded in 2021 by Sam Staincliffe and Jamie Meighan, says its proprietary chemical regeneration process restores composites to original performance levels, enabling reuse in high-spec supply chains rather than downcycling. The company has worked with Babcock to recover material from Eurofighter Typhoon parts and with Leonardo to convert Merlin helicopter blades into components for uncrewed systems.
