TiVo‘s Smart TV Platform Surges to 4 Million Users

Xperi's subsidiary, TiVo, announced significant growth in its smart TV operating system and cross-screen advertising platform. TiVo One now boasts over 4 million monthly active users, while TiVo OS is integrated into dozens of TV brands globally. The platform's success highlights the growing demand for personalized content experiences.

Xperi‘s subsidiary, TiVo, reported substantial growth across its media platform, encompassing the TiVo OS for smart TVs and the TiVo One cross-screen advertising platform. This growth reflects increased adoption by consumers and industry partners.

The TiVo One advertising platform, launched just over a year ago, has reached over four million monthly active users. This signifies TiVo‘s success in providing advertisers with access to unique audiences.

TiVo OS, the company’s smart TV operating system, has been integrated into numerous TV brands, reaching consumers in more than 40 countries. The platform’s performance has been particularly strong in the UK, where it is available in four of the five leading consumer electronics retailers.

TiVo OS emphasizes a content-centric user experience, offering over 385 local and regional channels tailored for European viewers. Recent enhancements provide users with more personalization options and create new opportunities for advertisers. These improvements include new video ad units on the TiVo One homepage, expanded content discovery features, and personalized streaming recommendations. The integration of DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X immersive audio enhances the viewing experience.

Geir Skaaden, EVP and Chief Product and Services Officer at Xperi, stated that the momentum seen among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), content providers, and retailers confirms the platform’s user-centric approach. He highlighted the platform’s ability to offer both enhanced entertainment and cross-screen monetization for advertisers. The independent nature of TiVo‘s platform provides OEM partners with greater control over the user experience and enables content providers to reach viewers effectively.

Xperi showcased the TiVo media platform at the IFA tradeshow in Berlin. The company’s overall mission is to simplify and enhance the television viewing experience for consumers. Additionally, TiVo aims to help studios, networks, and advertisers to increase viewership and engagement across all screens.
