The Mobile-First Company Raises $12M to Innovate SMB Communication

The Mobile-First Company secures $12 million in funding to enhance its AI-driven communication tools for small businesses, expanding its innovative mobile suite.

The Mobile-First Company, a Paris-based startup, has successfully raised $12 million in Seed funding, with investments led by Base10 Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners. This funding will be utilized to broaden the company’s suite of AI-driven mobile solutions tailored specifically for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Founded in 2023 by Jérémy Goillot, the former Head of Growth at Spendesk, and Franco Pinto, the Chief Technology Officer, the startup aims to address significant challenges faced by small business teams who often struggle with outdated and overly complex software solutions.

Goillot articulated his vision for the company, emphasizing his background and experiences in less technology-centric environments. He indicated that his aim with The Mobile-First Company was to develop software that resonates with the realities of small business operations. He noted that his journey in the tech industry allowed him to observe how large companies create tools that do not cater to the needs of small business owners. His goal was to design intuitive tools that are efficient and relevant for individuals who cannot afford to spend excessive time in front of a computer.

The startup’s flagship offering, Allo, is a mobile-first, AI-powered phone system designed to streamline communication for small teams. The platform has quickly gained traction, being utilized by over 5,000 businesses worldwide, particularly noting significant growth within the US market. Since the beginning of 2025, both usage and revenue for Allo have increased by an impressive 50% each month. Goillot explained that while small teams recognize the potential of AI, many existing tools are geared towards larger corporations, leaving a gap that Allo effectively fills by integrating AI into everyday functions such as calls, invoices, and expenses.

Allo boasts a range of advanced features, including a 24/7 AI receptionist, call summaries and transcriptions, intelligent call routing, voicemail transcription, and spam blocking. The platform operates without requiring traditional desk phones or complicated IT setups, making it accessible for users with limited technical expertise. The company is also set to expand its offerings with new tools, including Due, an AI invoicing application, and Claim, an expense management solution. This modular approach focuses on addressing specific issues rather than creating an overly complex all-in-one platform.

In contrast to competitors such as RingCentral, Dialpad, Aircall, and Nextiva, Allo is designed to function seamlessly on smartphones and tablets, enabling users to quickly set up features like interactive voice response (IVR) and AI receptionists within minutes. Antoine Moyroud, a partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, highlighted the company’s unique approach, suggesting that their intuitive, AI-driven technology integrates effortlessly into existing workflows, functioning as a supportive tool that enhances productivity without drawing attention to itself. This focus on subtle yet effective integration is poised to redefine how small businesses approach communication and operational efficiency in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
