MADRID — Spanish artificial intelligence startups raised 3.1 billion euros in venture capital funding during 2025, according to data released by Dealroom. The artificial intelligence sector alone attracted 717 million euros of that total investment volume. This performance solidifies the nation as a primary innovation hub within the European market as of early 2026.
The country has secured a cumulative 3.3 billion euros in funding for artificial intelligence firms since 2020. This capital influx makes Spain the sixth-largest market for artificial intelligence investment in Europe. Major funding rounds from companies like TravelPerk and Multiverse Computing contributed to this growth during the six-year period.
Job&Talent, a unicorn founded in 2009, has raised $1.2 billion to support its workforce management platform. The company uses artificial intelligence to automate hiring processes for its clients. A spokesperson for the firm said the capital supports its position as one of the largest platforms of its kind in Europe.
Other firms are also expanding their technical capabilities through significant financial backing. Xoople, which was founded in 2020, has secured $280 million to develop a geospatial platform. The company is currently working to enhance its machine learning tools through a partnership with L3Harris Technologies. Meanwhile, Biorce raised $61.4 million in 2024 to apply artificial intelligence to clinical trial design.
Additional companies are targeting specific industrial and medical applications with their recent capital raises. Fracttal secured $50.5 million to develop software for predictive maintenance and equipment monitoring. Universal Diagnostics has raised $158 million to advance its early cancer detection technology. These firms must now demonstrate their growth metrics to international investors throughout the remainder of 2026.
