Six Flags Welcomes Jonathan Brudnick to Board Amid Changes

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation appoints Jonathan Brudnick to its Board of Directors as part of a strategic overhaul and cooperation with Sachem Head Capital.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the leading amusement park operator in North America, has announced the addition of Jonathan Brudnick to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Brudnick, who is a partner at Sachem Head Capital, will serve as a Class III Director, with a term set to conclude in 2027. Furthermore, he will also be a member of the Board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, which is crucial for overseeing the company’s governance practices.

This appointment comes at a significant time for the company, as it prepares for leadership changes within the Board. The current executive chairman, Selim Bassoul, along with Daniel J. Hanrahan, the lead independent director, will depart from their positions at the end of December 2025. Following their exit, the Board will see its size decrease from 13 to 11 members, with a notable majority of 10 independent directors.

In his remarks about joining the Board, Brudnick expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, emphasizing the pivotal moment for the company. He acknowledged the positive interactions he has had with the Board and management, highlighting his confidence in the potential of Six Flags. He stated that the company has numerous avenues to enhance its current valuation and expressed eagerness to collaborate with fellow Board members to ensure the company continues its legacy as a premier amusement park operator in North America.

Sachem Head Capital, the investment firm that Brudnick represents, has reached a cooperation agreement with Six Flags, which includes standard commitments related to standstill, voting, and confidentiality. This collaboration aims to facilitate a smoother integration of strategies and governance improvements. The details of this agreement will be disclosed in a Form 8-K submission to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, ensuring transparency in their dealings.

Brudnick has been with Sachem Head since 2017 and has previously held various roles in private equity and public market investment firms. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Emory University and an MBA from the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His extensive financial background is expected to bring valuable insights to Six Flags as it navigates its future growth strategies.

As the largest regional amusement park operator in North America, Six Flags operates 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks, and nine resort properties across 17 states in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The company is known for its commitment to providing enjoyable and memorable experiences, featuring a range of attractions that include world-class roller coasters and themed rides.

With Brudnick’s induction into the Board and the impending leadership transitions, Six Flags appears poised to enhance its operational strategies and bolster its market position in the competitive amusement industry. The company’s focus on improving shareholder value will likely be a key priority as it moves forward.
