SingaporeConnect’s Singapore Festival 2025: A Bay Area Celebration

SingaporeConnect is hosting the inaugural Singapore Festival 2025 in the Bay Area on September 21st. The event will showcase Singapore's culture, history, and food, strengthening ties between the US and Singapore. Mark Sin, SingaporeConnect president, emphasized the festival's role in bridging communities.

A large-scale cultural event celebrating Singapore‘s 60th anniversary of independence will debut in the Bay Area. Organized by SingaporeConnect, a Bay Area non-profit, the Singapore Festival 2025 will take place on September 21st at the San Mateo County Event Center.

The festival aims to highlight Singapore‘s unique multicultural identity and foster stronger relationships between Singaporeans in the United States and the wider American and Asian communities. The event will feature a wide array of activities.

Attendees can expect an immersive theatrical experience recounting Singapore‘s journey to independence. A hawker-style food hall will offer a diverse selection of iconic Singaporean dishes from various restaurants.

A “Pasar Malam” marketplace will showcase local crafts, products, and services from a variety of vendors. The festival will also include live music and comedy performances showcasing Singaporean and international talent.

Interactive games and a collaborative art wall will encourage participation. Networking opportunities will allow attendees to connect with industry leaders and prominent Singaporeans based in the United States. Several fireside chats are planned on various topics.

Andrew Ng, Jerene Yang, and other notable speakers will participate in discussions about innovation, entrepreneurship, and community building. The festival is sponsored by several organizations, including the Singapore Global Network and Infocomm Media Development Authority.

Mark Sin, president of SingaporeConnect, described the festival as a bridge between communities, providing a platform for sharing stories and showcasing Singapore‘s global identity. He expressed gratitude to the many volunteers who made the event possible.

The festival will run from 10 AM to 8 PM. Tickets can be purchased online, and media interested in covering the event can contact SingaporeConnect for information. Accredited media are also invited to a VIP pre-event reception.

SingaporeConnect, founded in 2005, is dedicated to building a strong community of Singaporeans and Singapore enthusiasts in the United States. The organization aims to celebrate Singaporean heritage and foster connections within the community.
