Roseman University of Health Sciences has officially opened the doors to the Thorne Clinic for Integrative Oral Health and Primary Care, a new facility designed to enhance dental education and patient care. Located on the university’s campus in Henderson, Nevada, the clinic was inaugurated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials, business leaders, and members of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. The Thorne Clinic, situated at 4 Sunset Way, Building A, is a pivotal enhancement to Roseman University‘s existing dental and orthodontic facilities, which will soon include a primary care clinic operated by the Roseman Medical Group. With this new clinic, the total number of dental chairs on the Henderson campus will increase to 62, along with an overall dental care footprint of 17,300 square feet. This expansion aims to accommodate up to 50,000 patient visits annually, significantly increasing access to affordable dental care within the community.
The clinic’s establishment owes its success to a collaboration with PDS Health, under the leadership of its Founder and CEO, Stephen E. Thorne IV. PDS Health fully financed the clinic’s design, construction, and equipping, which included modern dental technologies and specialized equipment. Dr. Frank Licari, dean of the College of Dental Medicine, emphasized the importance of this partnership, highlighting that the clinic not only improves community access to dental services but also enriches the educational experience for dental students.
Innovative Educational Environment
The Thorne Clinic is set to function as a clinical education site for dental students enrolled in the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at Roseman’s South Jordan, Utah campus. Beginning in January 2026, these students will relocate to Henderson to engage in faculty-supervised patient care while receiving instruction in both theoretical and practical aspects of dentistry. This initiative is expected to expand as more students take advantage of the innovative training environment.
In addition to bolstering clinical training, the clinic will incorporate the use of the Epic® electronic health records system, marking a significant advancement in integrating dental and medical care. This system is designed to improve treatment planning and identify health risks more effectively, contributing to a holistic approach to patient care.
