RAINBOWCO Upgrades GENMA Port Equipment Brand

RAINBOWCO, a global leader in high-end manufacturing, announced a strategic upgrade to its GENMA brand of port container equipment. Effective September 1st, GENMA will replace the GENMA-KALMAR joint brand, aiming to bolster its global presence. This move signifies a key step in RAINBOWCO's international expansion.

RAINBOWCO (SZ002483) has announced a significant shift in its branding strategy for port container equipment. Starting September 1st, 2025, the company’s Taicang, China-based manufacturing facility will transition from the GENMAKALMAR joint branding to the unified GENMA brand.

This decision is intended to strengthen GENMA‘s international recognition and market position. The company believes this rebranding will be a key factor in its continued growth and global expansion efforts within the high-end equipment manufacturing sector.

RAINBOWCO‘s product portfolio will now focus on two core brands: GENMA and KOCH. The company, established in 2003, has five manufacturing bases across the globe, employs over 3,600 people, and reported revenue exceeding $1 billion in 2024. Its port container equipment is produced by Jiangsu Rainbow Industrial Equipment Co., Ltd. (RIC), a wholly-owned subsidiary.

RAINBOWCO‘s journey in the port equipment sector began with a strategic partnership with Cargotec in 2004. The partnership led to the establishment of a joint venture in 2012, which focused on the design, manufacturing, and global service of Kalmar heavy port cranes. This initial collaboration utilized a dual-branding strategy, incorporating both KALMAR and GENMA.

Subsequent restructuring in 2020 saw the joint venture renamed RIC, streamlining operations and enhancing local expertise. In 2022, RIC secured global intellectual property rights for Kalmar heavy port cranes, resulting in the launch of the GENMAKALMAR co-brand. This combined the strengths of both brands to target high-end global markets.

RAINBOWCO‘s CEO, Martin Wu, explained that this rebranding signifies a critical step in the company’s global strategy. He emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to the high-end equipment sector and its dedication to expanding its manufacturing capabilities and service networks internationally. The company aims to provide efficient and technologically advanced solutions to its global clientele.

GENMA‘s latest technological innovations will be showcased at several upcoming industry events, including TOC Africa 2025 in Morocco, TOC Americas 2025 in Panama, and TOC Asia 2025 in Singapore.
