Qutwo: Peter Sarlin launches AI-quantum bridge platform

Qutwo debuts with plan to bring “quantum-like” computing to today’s hardware

Peter Sarlin, the founder of Europe’s former largest AI model lab Silo AI, has launched a new venture called Qutwo aimed at narrowing the gap between today’s classical computing and future quantum machines. Sarlin, who stayed active in the field after AMD acquired Silo AI for $665 million in 2024, is now turning his attention to quantum computing.

According to details shared around the February launch, Qutwo was started roughly 18 months after the sale of Silo AI and is backed by PostScriptum. Sarlin’s family office is also reported to back other companies including Lovable, Tandem Health, Legora, and NestAI, the latter having received €100 million from Nokia for defence-focused AI.

Qutwo OS and the race for quantum advantage

Qutwo is positioning its core product, Qutwo OS, as a way for enterprises to access “quantum-like” capabilities before fault-tolerant quantum computers are widely available. The company’s pitch: use AI to mimic certain quantum behaviors on conventional hardware, potentially helping businesses experiment with new approaches to complex optimization and computation-heavy workloads.

The launch comes as governments and major tech players intensify efforts to reach quantum advantage—the point at which quantum systems outperform classical computers on specific tasks. Industry expectations commonly place commercial quantum computing closer to the end of the decade.

Early traction and team

Sarlin says Qutwo has already signed more than €20 million in contracts, with customers spanning finance, energy, logistics, and e-commerce. He also indicated the team had been operating quietly for months ahead of launch, bringing together specialists with backgrounds linked to institutions such as UC Berkeley, UCL, CMU, EPFL, Aalto, and UNSW.

Next, Qutwo plans to expand its enterprise footprint and scale beyond Europe as quantum technology matures.
