OpsMill’s Vision for Network Automation
French startup OpsMill, known for its innovative infrastructure data management software, has successfully secured $14 million in Series A funding. The funding round was led by IRIS, with participation from BGV and existing investors Serena and Partech. Founded in 2023 by Damien Garros and Karen Gallantry, OpsMill aims to transform the way enterprises manage complex infrastructures.
Addressing the Data Challenge
Garros, who brings nearly two decades of experience from companies like Roblox and Juniper Networks, identified a significant gap in the market. Many enterprises rely on disconnected spreadsheets and outdated systems, leading to operational risks such as costly outages and failed deployments. “Automation is ultimately a data problem,” Garros states, emphasizing the necessity of having a complete view of network infrastructures.
Introducing Infrahub
OpsMill’s flagship product, Infrahub, is designed to address these challenges by consolidating fragmented infrastructure data into a single source of truth. Utilizing graph database technology, Infrahub maps the relationships between various systems—both physical and virtual—allowing engineers to understand interactions and potential impacts before making changes.
Furthermore, Infrahub helps validate and govern configuration updates prior to deployment, crucial for sectors like financial services and manufacturing where errors can lead to compliance failures or major disruptions. The platform is available in both a free, open-source Community edition and a licensed Enterprise edition, similar to the approach taken by GitLab.
Strategic Partnerships and Future Plans
OpsMill’s unique focus on data quality and governance has attracted significant interest from major infrastructure operators, including TikTok. Notably, the European cloud services provider Eurofiber reported a drastic reduction in deployment times from five days to just fifteen minutes after adopting Infrahub.
As the demand for AI-driven IT operations continues to grow, OpsMill is well-positioned to capitalize. With the new funding, the company plans to expand its engineering and product teams to further accelerate development of its platform. Julien-David Nitlech, managing partner at IRIS, remarks, “Without clean, structured, trustworthy infrastructure data, AI-driven operations simply cannot function at scale.” OpsMill is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of enterprise technology.
