The Oddities & Curiosities Expo, a traveling showcase of unusual and unique items, will make its debut in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 27th and 28th. The event will be held at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center.

Attendees can expect a wide array of offerings. Vendors will sell taxidermy, preserved specimens, artwork with horror and Halloween themes, antiques, and metaphysical items. There will also be skulls, bones, and funeral-related collectibles.

Beyond shopping, the expo promises an immersive experience. Planned activities include photo opportunities, tarot card readings, and sideshow performances. Food and beverage concessions will also be available.

Michelle Cozzaglio, a founder of the Oddities & Curiosities Expo, explained the event’s mission. She stated that the expo aims to create a community for unusual small businesses and artists to flourish and provide a space where people feel comfortable expressing their interests.

Cozzaglio also emphasized the expo’s commitment to quality. She noted that the event’s success stems from collaboration with top-tier exhibitors and a dedication to meeting attendee expectations. The expo continuously seeks improvements to enhance the experience for both exhibitors and visitors.

The expo is not just for browsing and shopping. Workshops will be offered. Participants can enroll in a day-long taxidermy class to learn how to create a full-sized mount. Alternatively, there are insect-pinning classes available. All animal specimens used in the workshops are ethically sourced, having died of natural causes. These classes will be taught by Heather Clark of Sleeping Sirens Art & Oddities.

The Oddities & Curiosities Expo will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 28th. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Children aged 12 and under are admitted free of charge. The event is open to all ages, though parents are advised to consider the suitability of the event for their children.
