Nexos.ai Secures €30 Million Funding to Revolutionize AI Governance

Founded by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, Nexos.ai raises €30 million to enhance AI adoption while protecting enterprise data security.

Nexos.ai Emerges as a Leader in AI Infrastructure
Founded in late 2024 by Lithuanian entrepreneurs Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, Nexos.ai has quickly established itself as a significant player in the European enterprise AI infrastructure landscape. The duo, renowned for their previous venture that led to the creation of the $3 billion cybersecurity firm Nord Security behind the popular NordVPN, successfully raised €30 million in a Series A funding round. This round was spearheaded by Index Ventures and Evantic Capital, with participation from Creandum and DIG Ventures. Following this investment, the company’s valuation stands at an impressive €300 million.

Addressing the Challenges of AI Adoption
Nexos.ai aims to address a critical issue faced by businesses today: the secure adoption of AI technologies. With many enterprises apprehensive about the risks associated with data leaks as employees interact with large language models (LLMs), the startup’s mission is clear. Okmanas and Sabaliauskas envision their company as a “Switzerland for LLMs,” serving as a neutral intermediary that strikes a balance between enhancing productivity and ensuring robust governance and data control. Their extensive background in building the tech venture portfolio Tesonet, which has already demonstrated significant efficiency gains through AI, underpins this vision.

Innovative Products for Diverse Needs
Nexos.ai’s technology revolves around two core products: an AI Workspace designed for employees and an AI Gateway tailored for developers. The AI Gateway integrates access and monitoring capabilities for over 200 AI models from leading providers such as OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and Meta. This product offers a unified layer for security, compliance, and cost management, distinguishing Nexos.ai from competitors like UiPath, Kore.ai, Botpress, and IBM WatsonX Orchestrate, which tend to focus on narrower aspects of automation rather than comprehensive enterprise-level AI governance.

Plans for Growth and Expansion
With the recent capital influx, Nexos.ai is poised for significant growth. The company plans to expand its workforce to approximately 100 employees while also accelerating its reach across Europe and North America. The initial focus will be on regulated industries and public sector entities that prioritize data sovereignty. Currently, Nexos.ai is conducting between 50 to 60 demonstrations each week for tech-forward companies utilizing AI on a daily basis. This effort is part of a broader strategy to assist enterprises in navigating the complexities of AI strategy formulation, a task that has become increasingly pressing in today’s data-driven environment.
