LONDON — NEX Health Intelligence, a medical technology startup based in the United Kingdom, secured 1 million euros in a pre-seed funding round on Tuesday. The investment was led by Brighteye Ventures to support the development of software designed to predict the spread of drug-resistant infections in clinical settings. The company intends to deploy the capital to refine its predictive algorithms over the next 12 months.

The firm plans to use the 1 million euro injection to navigate the regulatory approval process within the United Kingdom. Obtaining these government certifications is a requirement for the software to function inside hospitals by mid-2025. NEX Health Intelligence stated that the funds provide the necessary runway to complete these legal filings while expanding their technical team by 5 employees.

CEO Sofia Chesnokova said the funding will accelerate the timeline for market entry by 6 months. The company uses artificial intelligence to analyze hospital data patterns to identify potential outbreaks before they occur. Chesnokova stated that the primary objective of the 1 million euro investment is to improve the efficacy of the software in real-world hospital environments.

Brighteye Ventures joined the funding round to support the startup as it attempts to reduce the 100 percent of infections that currently go undetected in some facilities. The technology aims to provide hospital staff with actionable data to prevent the transmission of bacteria. NEX Health Intelligence did not disclose the specific valuation of the company following this 1 million euro transaction.

The startup must now complete its clinical testing phase before the end of 2026 to meet its stated growth targets. Future deployment of the software depends on the successful acquisition of regulatory permits from UK health authorities. NEX Health Intelligence will maintain its headquarters in London as it works to integrate its systems with at least 3 pilot hospital networks by the start of next year.
