MUNICH — Mobility Signage secured 1.8 million euros in new funding on Tuesday to modernize public transport networks across Germany. The Munich-based company received the capital from investors HTGF and 2bX in a financing round intended to upgrade existing infrastructure without complete hardware replacements. The firm did not disclose the exact company valuation following the 1.8 million euro injection.

The startup focuses on integrating digital tools into transport networks that serve the 2024 urban population. According to Mobility Signage, these systems must remain functional while adding new capabilities to meet modern demands. The software aims to reduce financial burdens on municipal authorities by avoiding the 100 percent replacement of legacy hardware. The firm did not provide a specific date for the next phase of its product rollout.

Mobility Signage plans to use the 1.8 million euros to develop and implement software that connects with current transport infrastructure. The technology allows for system upgrades without the downtime that typically affects daily commuters during traditional construction projects. "Our goal is to provide smart solutions that enhance public transport efficiency and user experience, all while respecting the existing frameworks that serve our cities," the company said.

The company addresses transport systems that currently struggle with aging technology and urban mobility demands. By utilizing existing infrastructure, Mobility Signage intends to lower costs for local governments while minimizing service disruptions for daily passengers who rely on these networks. The firm did not release a breakdown of how the 1.8 million euros will be allocated between research, development, and marketing departments.

With the 1.8 million euros now in its accounts, Mobility Signage intends to expand its operations in Munich and other urban areas through 2024 and 2025. The company stated that it will use the funds to bring its innovations to market during this period. The firm did not disclose the number of new employees it plans to hire with this capital, nor did it respond to a request for comment regarding its 2026 revenue targets.
