Meva Energy Secures Funding to Enhance Biogas Operations
The urgent need to address climate change and enhance energy security has led to a significant shift in the energy sector, particularly regarding the reliance on fossil fuels. During the recent EIT InnoEnergy Business Booster event held in Lisbon, Meva Energy announced a substantial financing deal amounting to €40 million from the European Investment Bank (EIB). Founded in 2008, Meva Energy originated from research conducted at Luleå University of Technology and the Energitekniskt Centrum (ETC) gasification center in Sweden. Over the years, the company has emerged as a leader in the fields of thermochemical process engineering, gasification, and syngas cleaning technologies. The headquarters in Gothenburg is led by CEO Niclas Davidsson, who emphasizes the mission of promoting a fossil-free manufacturing industry characterized by zero waste from biomass and no fossil emissions. Meva Energy aims to expand its influence globally, aspiring to be a frontrunner in modular biomass gasification, notably transforming waste into valuable clean energy.
What differentiates Meva Energy from competitors like EnviroChemie, CHOREN Industries, and Ankur Scientific is its unique capability to convert low-value biomass residues—often regarded as waste—into energy.
