This funding round was spearheaded by Lakestar and included significant contributions from Giant Ventures, RedSeed VC, InMotion Ventures, the 1st Kind (associated with the Peugeot family), Unruly Capital, and Boost VC. Additionally, the company received grants from Innovate UK and the Royal Academy of Engineering. With this financial boost, Matta is poised to accelerate its expansion within both European and American markets, enhancing its core technological capabilities while also allowing for self-serve deployment.

Founded in 2022 by entrepreneurs Douglas Brion and Sebastian Pattinson, Matta enters a manufacturing landscape increasingly burdened by rising energy costs, fragile supply chains, and a diminishing skilled workforce. As factories across Europe and the US face pressures to reshore operations, reduce emissions, and improve productivity despite limited resources, the structural vulnerabilities of traditional manufacturing solutions have become apparent.
