Maket Secures $3.7M CAD to Revolutionize Architectural Design

Maket raises $3.7 million CAD to enhance its AI-driven architectural design platform, making it easier for users to create and visualize spaces.

Innovative Solutions for Architectural Design

The architectural design process has traditionally posed significant challenges, particularly for non-experts such as homeowners and small-scale builders. To tackle these complexities, Maket has developed a generative AI platform that streamlines the creation of floor plans, layout modifications, and 3D visualizations. The company recently announced it has secured $3.7 million CAD in seed funding, an investment spearheaded by Amiral Ventures with participation from Blitzscaling Ventures, BY Venture Partners, Hidden Layers, and Desjardins Group. Since its inception in 2023, Maket has attracted over one million registered users and has expanded its workforce to approximately 14-15 employees, accumulating a total funding amount exceeding $4 million CAD.

A Vision for Accessible Architecture

Founded in 2020 by Patrick Murphy, Stéphane Turbide, and Simon Vallée, Maket aims to democratize access to quality architectural design by providing tools that enable both experts and everyday users to create smart and aesthetically pleasing designs. Murphy expressed that everyone should have the opportunity to access beautiful architecture, emphasizing that Maket empowers individuals to realize their home or project visions quickly and affordably. He noted that this recent funding underscores the significant advancements made by the Maket team and reflects the market’s support for a more inclusive approach to design.

Advanced Features of the Platform

The platform functions as an architectural intelligence tool, leveraging sophisticated design expertise embedded within its generative AI algorithms. Users can generate customized floor plans instantly based on their inputs while benefiting from editing capabilities and 3D visualizations. Throughout the design process, the platform provides intelligent recommendations and guidance. Key functionalities include rapid floor plan generation, AI-assisted style exploration, and expert-informed decision-making tools. Future enhancements will introduce a regulatory assistant aimed at simplifying compliance with zoning codes.

Future Developments and Subscription Model

Looking forward, Maket is preparing to launch Maket 2.0 in early 2026, which will further enhance its AI capabilities and introduce professional-grade tools for zoning code verification, HVAC planning, and material takeoffs. The company offers a subscription model, beginning at approximately $30 CAD per month for individual users. Larger enterprises will have access to plans that allow for the integration of custom workflows and libraries tailored to the needs of builders, prefab manufacturers, and developers. Frédéric Bastien, Managing Partner at Amiral Ventures, remarked that Maket is introducing a transformative approach to an industry that has been resistant to change, empowering both professionals and novice designers to create more effectively and beautifully than ever before.
