The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce organized Turkey‘s national participation at SIAL Interfood 2025 in Jakarta, connecting Turkish firms with global buyers at JI Expo Kemayoran.

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has coordinated the Turkey National Participation at the SIAL Interfood 2025 exhibition, held at the JI Expo Kemayoran in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event serves as a major platform for Turkish companies to connect with international buyers and significantly expand their footprint in the global food market.

From its opening day, the Turkish pavilion garnered substantial interest. The initiative, led by ITO, aims to strategically position Turkey‘s food sector and reinforce its presence on the world stage.

ITO Delegation Inaugurates Pavilion

An ITO delegation was present for the opening ceremony, underscoring the organization’s commitment to the event. The delegation included ITO Vice Chairmen Ahmet Ozer and Mehmet Develioglu, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Nihat Alayoglu, and Committee Member Serdar Ergun.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the ITO representatives highlighted the critical role these international fairs play in increasing the global visibility of Turkish firms. They spoke on the advanced quality, high production capacity, and international competitiveness that define Turkey‘s food industry.

High-Level Visits and Buyer Interest

On the first day of the exhibition, the Turkey pavilion was a hub of activity. The ITO leadership, including Ozer, Develioglu, and Alayoglu, toured the stands of the participating Turkish firms. They were joined by Turkey‘s Ambassador to Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Talip Kucukcan, and Commercial Attachés Esra Eruysal Uygur and Emrah Ersoy.

During their visits, the officials reviewed product materials and discussed export strategies with the company representatives. The Turkish firms’ innovative products, high manufacturing standards, and pricing policies tailored for the region attracted keen interest from foreign buyers.

Focusing on Asian Market Opportunities

Serdar Ergun, an ITO Committee Member known for closely monitoring the sector’s competitive landscape in Turkey and abroad, was also part of the visiting delegation. Ergun conducted several important meetings during the fair.

He noted that Indonesia and the surrounding Asian countries offer significant opportunities for the Turkish food sector. He also conveyed that participation in these fairs is a critical step for Turkish companies seeking to establish long-term business collaborations in these rapidly growing markets.

Building Future Trade Relations

The ITO delegation also took the time to listen to the demands and feedback from the producers at the pavilion, discussing new potential collaborations to address the sector’s needs. The consistent flow of international purchasing managers to the Turkey pavilion throughout the day successfully elevated the profile of Turkish brands in the region.

Products such as spices, dry foods, bakery goods, beverages, and various packaged foods received particular attention.

The significance of SIAL Interfood 2025 for Turkey extends beyond product showcases. The connections established at the fair are expected to pave the way for new opportunities to increase trade volume with nations across the region. The national participation, coordinated by ITO, is a strategic move aimed at further bolstering the international competitiveness of the Turkish food sector.
