### Addressing the Challenges of Chronic Conditions
A significant portion of the adult population—over 41%—is currently living with chronic health conditions, often facing the hurdles of disjointed healthcare systems and lengthy waiting times. This reality creates substantial challenges for individuals trying to manage their health effectively. In response to this pressing issue, Human Health, a startup launched in November 2021 by Kate Lambridis and Georgia Vidler, both former product leaders at Canva, is striving to transform the patient experience by placing them at the forefront of their healthcare journey.
### Innovative Approach to Health Management
Human Health has developed a platform known as the Precision Health OS, which leverages artificial intelligence in conjunction with data reported directly by patients. This innovative system integrates comprehensive health histories, tracks daily symptoms and treatments, and identifies hidden patterns that may go unnoticed in traditional medical settings. By doing so, it empowers patients to generate detailed reports for their healthcare providers, which can facilitate the creation of tailored treatment plans. In a recent statement, Kate Lambridis articulated the company’s straightforward mission: to ensure that everyone has access to personalized healthcare. She highlighted the current plight of many patients who find themselves in a state of uncertainty—stuck on waiting lists and having to repeat their medical histories to multiple doctors without adequate resources to navigate their complex conditions.
### Empowering Patients Through Data
Human Health aims to revolutionize this scenario by equipping patients with the tools necessary to document their health data, monitor effective treatments, and share crucial insights with medical professionals. This approach not only enables individuals to take charge of their health journeys but also fosters self-advocacy. The data collected will contribute to the world’s largest observational dataset on chronic diseases, driven by the preferences of the patients themselves.
### Significant Funding Boost for Development
Recently, Human Health successfully secured £4.1 million in Seed funding, a round led by LocalGlobe, Airtree, and Skip Capital, with contributions from notable investors such as Arvind Rajan of Cricket Health, Eric Salama, the former CEO of Kantar, and David Shein, a general partner at OIF Ventures. This influx of capital is expected to expedite the development of advanced features, expand the platform’s use cases, and allow patients to decide whether to share anonymized data for research purposes. Additionally, Human Health is scaling its business platform, Human Evidence, which collaborates with life sciences firms to gather real-world patient data for new studies, further establishing its commitment to improving chronic health management.
