ISTANBUL — Grand Games secured $70 million in a Series B funding round, the Turkish mobile gaming startup announced in a statement on Tuesday. The latest investment brings the total funding secured by Grand Games to $103 million, arriving just two years after the company was established in 2024 by its founding executives to challenge established industry players across the competitive global mobile gaming market.
Balderton Capital led the financing round, according to corporate disclosures provided by Grand Games regarding the transaction details. With the fresh $70 million infusion of capital, Grand Games aims to significantly expand its marketing efforts, scale existing mobile titles, and support a robust pipeline of upcoming game releases across more than 200 countries worldwide, the company said.
Batuhan Celebi, Mehmet Calim, and Mustafa Firtina founded Grand Games in 2024 to operate through a decentralized structure consisting of five autonomous studios, according to a corporate overview. This ownership-driven operating model is specifically designed to enhance production speed and give creators greater control over independent development decisions, product direction, and project outcomes without centralized bureaucratic interference.
Grand Games achieved a remarkable 5x year-over-year revenue increase and surpassed 50 million downloads with six live games in its portfolio, the firm confirmed in recent company figures. Magic Sort and Block Out, two of those six live titles developed by Grand Games, recently held the top two spots on the United States iOS most downloaded games chart.
Rana Yared, a partner at Balderton Capital, said in a statement that the venture firm backed Grand Games in 2024 after evaluating teams in this specific category. The financial conviction in what Batuhan Celebi, Mehmet Calim, Mustafa Firtina, and the Grand Games team are building is stronger than ever, Rana Yared added regarding the funding agreement and subsequent partnership.
