STOCKHOLM — Front Ventures raised 5 million euros in fresh capital through an oversubscribed rights issue of B-shares, the Swedish investment firm said in a formal statement released on Tuesday. The public investment round achieved an impressive 278 percent subscription rate, attracting major institutional shareholders eager to back early-stage defence technology startups operating in Sweden and Ukraine, according to the official regulatory filing filed in Stockholm.
Chief Executive Officer Jonas Malmgren and board member Johan Lund, a former chief executive of the firm, both participated directly in the share offering, the company said in documents. Front Ventures has maintained a strict strategic focus on defence technology since its corporate founding in 2012, assembling a specialized internal team with combined military, industrial, and entrepreneurial expertise, according to management records.
Capital disbursements from the recent raise will range from 200,000 euros to 2.5 million euros for each qualifying enterprise, the firm said in a statement. Existing portfolio participants include SkyHunter, a specialized developer of target allocation systems for drone interceptors, and Aeromotors, a Ukrainian manufacturer supplying essential drone propulsion systems to NATO-aligned markets, the company confirmed to shareholders.
Front Ventures has already targeted two additional transactions in the broader defence sector, though specific financial terms and closing dates remain undisclosed by executives. The Stockholm-based investor also serves as an approved financial partner for Brave1, a Ukrainian government-backed platform connecting startups with military users, giving Front Ventures direct access to battlefield-tested hardware, the company said.
The 5 million euro influx will enable early-stage firms possessing working military prototypes to accelerate commercial expansion across European territories, Malmgren said in a recent interview. Front Ventures provided no specific quarterly revenue figures for SkyHunter or Aeromotors in the financial disclosures, and the corporate leadership gave no exact calendar timeline for the two pending investments.
