Fresenius Kabi & AABB Celebrate 20 Years of Blood Collectors Week

Fresenius Kabi and the AABB marked the 20th anniversary of Blood Collectors Week (September 7-14, 2025), celebrating two decades of recognizing blood collection professionals’ vital role in ensuring a safe blood supply for patients. The week honors the dedication of phlebotomists, apheresis operators, and other essential personnel.

Fresenius Kabi and the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB) jointly announced the 20th annual Blood Collectors Week, scheduled for September 7-14, 2025. This observance highlights the contributions of individuals crucial to the blood donation process.

The week-long celebration recognizes the dedication of professionals who act as the critical link between blood donors and patients in need. These individuals include phlebotomists, apheresis operators, donor recruiters, technicians, drivers, and medical directors. Their collective efforts ensure a consistent and safe blood supply.

Eddie Kubo, senior vice president of commercial operations for transfusion and cell therapies at Fresenius Kabi in North America, emphasized the significance of the milestone. He stated that this anniversary is a tribute to the countless individuals who expertly and compassionately guide the blood donation process. He expressed pride in working alongside these professionals who dedicate themselves to patient care.

Over 200 blood collection facilities across the United States are expected to participate in Blood Collectors Week with various events.
