Connectome closes $2M pre-seed round
Zurich-based neurotechnology startup Connectome has raised a $2 million pre-seed financing round led by Redstone, the company said. The funding will support development of a platform designed to continuously track brain decline and identify early cognitive changes before they become clinically visible.
Targeting “silent” cognitive change
Connectome says its approach is built to detect up to 70% of “silent cognitive changes” before symptoms appear, aiming to close a major gap in how cognitive decline is typically recognized. Many neurodegenerative conditions and age-related impairments progress gradually, with measurable changes often occurring long before patients or clinicians notice problems.
By focusing on continuous monitoring rather than episodic assessments, the startup is positioning its technology as a potential tool for earlier intervention and more precise tracking of disease progression. The company did not disclose additional investors, valuation details, or a timeline for regulatory milestones.
Why continuous monitoring matters
Traditional cognitive screening is often performed infrequently and can be influenced by short-term factors such as stress, sleep, or test familiarity. Continuous monitoring—if validated—could provide richer longitudinal data, helping clinicians distinguish temporary fluctuations from meaningful decline and enabling researchers to measure whether treatments are slowing progression.
The pre-seed capital is expected to fund product iteration, early validation work, and team growth as Connectome moves toward broader pilots. Interest in neurotech has increased as health systems and investors look for scalable ways to address rising dementia and cognitive impairment rates in aging populations.
