LONDON — CodeWords secured $9 million in a seed funding round led by Visionaries to expand its artificial intelligence workflow automation platform, the London-based startup said on Tuesday in an official announcement.

The financing round in 2023 included financial participation from firstminute capital, Sequel, and Illusian, according to a statement released by the startup. Additional backing came from high-profile angel investors such as Andrey Khusid, who serves as the chief executive officer of Miro. Mati Staniszewski, the CEO of ElevenLabs, and Robert Gentz, the chief executive of Zalando, also contributed capital to the round alongside executives from artificial intelligence developers OpenAI and Mistral.

Osman Ramadan and Aymeric Zhuo established the enterprise after completing extensive stints at technology giants Microsoft and Meta. Their flagship product, an autonomous agent called Cody, currently processes 500,000 workflows every month for corporate clients across multiple international business sectors, the co-founders confirmed. Aymeric Zhuo said the system learns about specific business operations and delivers outcomes autonomously without waiting for explicit user prompts or manual intervention.

Alongside the $9 million capital injection, CodeWords is rolling out three new functional features, including contextual memory, WhatsApp integration, and specialized Cody modes for task management. Unlike traditional integration tools such as Zapier, which require users to design complex workflow logic manually, Cody allows operators to describe their requirements in plain text while the software handles deployment and maintenance. Robert Jäckle, a partner at lead investor Visionaries, praised the team's rapid progress and noted that the product completely eliminates technical barriers for non-programmers.

The newly secured funds will be deployed to expand both engineering capabilities and marketing operations to support broader commercial adoption of the platform, the company said in a statement. CodeWords did not disclose a specific valuation or the exact breakdown of愘 the equity stake acquired by Visionaries during the financing finalized in 2023, nor did management reveal future fundraising schedules.
