Cadeler, a leading global provider of offshore wind transportation and installation services, announced the relocation of its Taipei team to a larger office in the Xinyi district. This move underscores the company’s strategic focus on expanding its presence and partnerships within the Asia-Pacific region.
The new office will enhance Cadeler‘s ability to manage and secure projects across numerous markets in the region. This includes established markets like Taiwan, as well as emerging markets such as Vietnam, the Philippines, South Korea, and Australia.
Cadeler has a strong history in Taiwan‘s offshore wind sector, having participated in the development of the Formosa 1 offshore wind farm, the nation’s first commercial-scale project. The company currently operates two vessels in Taiwanese waters. One is installing turbines at Ørsted‘s Greater Changhua 2b & 4 Offshore Wind Farm, while the other is engaged in a long-term contract with Vestas.
The company’s vessels are contracted for regional projects extending through the end of the decade. Future projects include turbine installation at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners‘ Fengmiao 1 project in 2027 and at the Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Farm, developed by Synera Renewable Energy (SRE), in 2028.
Mikkel Gleerup, Cadeler‘s CEO, stated the new Taipei office will serve as a regional hub, bolstering local teams, fostering client relationships, and coordinating international projects. He highlighted the company’s commitment to the Asia-Pacific region’s clean energy future.
Tony Lu, Cadeler‘s APAC Manager, emphasized that the new office reflects the company’s confidence in the region’s potential. He noted that the increased space and resources will better enable Cadeler to meet the growing demand for its services.
The new Taipei office is designed to accommodate a significantly larger workforce, allowing for future expansion. Its design mirrors Cadeler‘s European offices and is located near the recently opened Taipei Dome.
