The main competition of Bybit‘s World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2025 commenced on August 27th, marking a significant milestone in the cryptocurrency trading world. The event, which concludes September 15th, offers an $8 million prize pool, a substantial increase from previous years.
A ten-day pre-heat stage preceded the main competition, awarding $670,000 in prizes and generating $78 billion in trading volume. This period served as a qualifier for the main event, setting the stage for an unprecedented level of participation.
Organizers reported a dramatic surge in participation for WSOT 2025. The number of competing teams exceeded 1,400, representing a fourfold increase compared to the 2024 competition. Over 350,000 individuals registered, showcasing the competition’s growing appeal.
A key focus of WSOT 2025 is inclusivity. Unlike previous years, the competition welcomes traders with smaller capital, starting from just $100. This approach aims to democratize competitive trading, making it accessible to a broader range of participants.
The competition features two main showdowns: the Squad Showdown, with a $3.76 million prize pool, and the Individual Showdown, offering a larger $4.4 million prize pool. This structure accommodates various trading styles and team sizes.
WSOT 2025 also integrates decentralized trading through its “Onchain Wave” on Solana. This initiative, running concurrently with the main competition, offers over $1 million in rewards and promotes collaboration between centralized and decentralized trading communities. Several leading Solana ecosystem projects partner with Bybit in this effort.
Dusty BC, a cryptocurrency trader and key opinion leader, highlighted the competition’s impact on smaller traders. He emphasized the increased opportunities now available to individuals with limited capital.
Alex Marzell, a cryptocurrency trader and investor, noted the significant increase in online searches related to altcoins and trading, suggesting a high level of market interest. This surge in interest, coupled with market analysis indicating strong momentum heading into the fourth quarter of 2025, creates a favorable environment for the competition.
Sam, CEO of Tealstreet, participated in a livestream announcing the competition, which is part of a series designed to reach a global audience across multiple languages.
Bybit‘s commitment to supporting its community is evident in its comprehensive support systems, including educational resources, community engagement initiatives, and a robust trading infrastructure. The competition is designed to foster a supportive environment for traders of all skill levels.
The overall $10 million prize pool makes WSOT 2025 one of the most lucrative trading competitions in the industry. Its focus on accessibility and inclusivity, combined with a substantial prize pool and positive market sentiment, positions it as a pivotal event in the competitive cryptocurrency trading landscape.
