Artificial Societies Secures €4.5M to Advance AI-Powered Human Simulations

Artificial Societies, a London-based startup building AI-driven synthetic persona simulations, has raised €4.5 million across pre-Seed and Seed rounds to expand its social simulation platform.

Funding and Investors

The company confirmed that the latest €2.8 million Seed round was led by Point72 Ventures, following an earlier €1.7 million pre-Seed round backed by Kindred Capital, Y Combinator, Pioneer Fund, Ventures Together, Icehouse Ventures, Multimodal Ventures, Carya Venture Partners, Transpose Platform, investor Taro Fukuyama, and several angels connected to Sequoia Capital Scout, Figma, Prolific, and Google DeepMind.

Co-founder James He explained that the idea for Artificial Societies was first developed in 2024, followed by acceptance into Y Combinator’s W25 batch and the launch of early demos in March 2025. He noted that the platform recently became available for public use, marking a key step in turning the team’s original vision into a functioning product.

Platform Capabilities

Founded by James He and Patrick Sharpe, Artificial Societies has developed AS, a platform that enables simulations of digital groups represented by AI-generated personas. Each persona is designed with behavioural data drawn from online sources to reflect human-like characteristics including preferences, motivations, and decision-making patterns.

The system allows businesses and researchers to model target audiences, test responses to different messages, and receive feedback within minutes. Users can run simulations for campaigns such as emails, advertisements, or social media posts. Results are provided through performance scores, qualitative insights, and summarised analysis of audience reactions.

Early Adoption and Growth

Since its official launch, the platform has attracted more than 15,000 users, who together have conducted over 100,000 simulations. Earlier this year, the company also experimented with a simulation of 1,000 venture capitalists. The team has since moved its headquarters from a small flat in Bayswater to a dedicated office in London’s City district.

Artificial Societies offers two core simulation models: one that mirrors a defined target audience profile and another that replicates a user’s own social media following. Access is based on a credit system, with free accounts starting with three credits and professional plans providing unlimited usage.

Strategic Outlook

Co-founder Patrick Sharpe emphasized that the company’s goal is to help organisations quickly test ideas and ensure alignment with customer expectations. With the fresh funding, Artificial Societies plans to focus on improving prediction accuracy, introducing new features, and expanding partnerships in fields such as market research, branding, and content strategy.

The startup operates in a growing market that includes competitors like Synthetic Users, Evidenza, and Ask Rally. However, its early traction, investor network, and enterprise approach are positioning it as a strong player in the synthetic persona landscape across Europe and beyond.
