TerraSpark secures €5M+ to develop orbital solar power

TerraSpark has raised more than €5 million in funding from French venture firm daphni, investor Sake Bosch, and additional backers to accelerate its work on space-based solar power—a concept aimed at collecting solar energy in orbit and transmitting it to Earth.

The company’s near-term plan is to start with terrestrial demonstrations of wireless energy transmission, a critical step toward proving that power can be beamed safely and efficiently over distance before attempting full-scale deployment in space. While the long-term vision involves harvesting abundant sunlight above the atmosphere—where solar generation is not interrupted by night or weather—technical, regulatory, and cost hurdles have historically limited progress in the sector.
