Elyos AI secures Series A to scale AI agents for field services
Elyos AI, a London-based startup developing AI agents for trades and field services businesses, has raised €11.1 million (about $13 million) in a Series A round to speed up product development and expand internationally. The funding was led by Blackbird Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator and Pi Labs.
The company said the latest round brings its total funding to €13.7 million (about $16 million) since its founding.
Targeting a high-volume, high-friction industry
Elyos AI is focused on a pain point familiar to many small and mid-sized trades operators: managing constant inbound customer requests while keeping crews dispatched and jobs moving. The startup’s AI agents are designed to automate front-office workflows such as answering calls, booking jobs, dispatch coordination, and follow-ups across multiple channels.
“Trades businesses are overwhelmed by calls, emails, and admin – and that friction directly costs them revenue,” said Adrian Johnston, co-founder of Elyos AI. “We’re building AI agents that work like effective front-office staff: answering every call, booking every job, and integrating deeply into the systems trades already use.”
What the product does
The company positions its software as a set of AI agents built for trades such as plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, and facilities operations. According to the startup, the agents can:
- Handle inbound phone calls, including after-hours queries
- Trigger outbound follow-ups and respond to missed calls
- Manage email workflows and customer communications
- Support booking and dispatch processes
- Integrate with industry-standard field-service systems and CRMs
By automating these tasks, Elyos AI aims to help businesses capture more jobs—particularly those lost to missed calls or slow response times—while reducing administrative overhead.
Backers cite market size and early traction
Blackbird Ventures partner James Palmer said the firm views the trades and field services segment as a large vertical market where product execution and workflow depth matter more than general-purpose AI demos.
“Elyos is going after a massive vertical market, and their deep understanding of trades businesses is evident in how well their voice agents perform in the real world,” Palmer said. He added that the company’s early traction and customer sentiment were key signals for the investment, and suggested Elyos AI could become a category-defining player for AI in field services.
Elyos AI claims customers have reported higher booking rates, faster response times, and fewer missed calls after deploying its agents. The company did not disclose customer counts or revenue figures.
How the new funding will be used
The startup said the Series A proceeds will go toward three main priorities:
- Team growth: expanding engineering and go-to-market headcount
- Deeper integrations: building tighter connections with field-service CRMs and tools already used by trades operators
- New capabilities: extending agent functionality across voice, email, and messaging
Elyos AI also plans to expand internationally in 2026, signaling ambitions beyond the UK market. It did not specify target countries or a timeline for launches.
From YC origins to a broader rollout
Elyos AI was founded in 2023 by Adrian Johnston, Philippa Brown, and Panos Stravopodis and emerged from the Y Combinator program. The company’s pitch reflects a growing trend in enterprise software: moving from generic AI assistants toward task-specific AI agents that can execute workflows end-to-end, especially in industries with repetitive customer interactions and operational coordination.
For trades and field services businesses, the opportunity is straightforward: missed calls often translate directly into missed revenue, and many operators lack the staff to respond instantly during busy periods. Elyos AI is betting that voice-first automation—combined with tight back-office integrations—can deliver measurable ROI without forcing companies to overhaul their existing systems.
What to watch next
The company’s next phase will likely hinge on how reliably its AI agents perform in real-world customer interactions, and how effectively it can integrate with the fragmented ecosystem of scheduling, dispatch, payments, and CRM tools used across the trades. International expansion will also test whether the product can adapt to differences in call handling norms, compliance requirements, and local field-service workflows.
With fresh capital and a focus on deeper integrations and multi-channel capabilities, Elyos AI is positioning itself to become a core front-office layer for trades operators—one that answers every call, follows up on every lead, and turns more inquiries into booked jobs.
