Piere Secures $2.1 Million to Revolutionize Personal Finance Management

Financial startup Piere has raised $2.1 million to enhance its AI-driven platform for automated financial decision-making and management.

Piere’s Ambitious Funding Round

Based in New York City, the financial automation startup Piere has successfully secured $2.1 million in pre-seed funding aimed at advancing its innovative AI-powered platform designed to streamline the management and execution of financial decisions. The investment round was spearheaded by Grand Ventures, with notable contributions from Selah Ventures, Trustage Ventures, Samvid Ventures, and Fabric VC. Additionally, several angel investors participated, including Aditya Khurjekar, notable for co-founding Money 20/20, along with Nick Calamari from Better.com and Joe Lieberman of K20 Fund. The company intends to utilize this funding to enhance product development, broaden its engineering and growth teams, and forge additional partnerships with banks and financial institutions.

Revolutionizing Personal Finance Management

At the helm of Piere is CEO and founder Yuval Shmul Shuminer, who emphasizes the startup’s goal to make personal finance management both accessible and intuitive. According to Shuminer, while most financial applications provide users with plans, Piere goes a step further by executing those plans automatically. He elaborated that the platform’s AI analyzes individual goals, habits, and potential blind spots to create personalized financial strategies that not only aim to improve users’ financial futures but also facilitate automated execution of these strategies. This funding will allow Piere to expedite its vision of “self-driving money,” a concept where finances optimize independently according to each user’s needs.

Innovative Technology and User Engagement

The technology behind Piere employs its AI-driven MyPlan system, which automates tailored financial plans based on user behavior and objectives. Unlike traditional budgeting applications, Piere takes proactive measures by automatically implementing financial actions such as saving, debt repayment, or investment, effectively translating user goals into actionable steps. The application seamlessly integrates with various financial services, including Venmo and CashApp, enabling automatic transaction reconciliation. Furthermore, Piere operates a hybrid business model that includes a direct-to-consumer app for real-time financial insights and automation tools, in addition to white-label and co-branded solutions for banks, credit unions, and counselling organizations.

The startup’s unique approach is underscored by Shuminer’s assertion that the MyPlan™ system is designed so that “your money should manage itself.” He describes the platform’s capability to identify inefficiencies across spending, savings, investments, loans, and credit, executing what he terms “Moves” to optimize finances efficiently. Users can choose to allow the AI to operate entirely autonomously or set manual parameters for added control.

In a notable growth trajectory, Piere has reported a threefold increase in its user base and a fourfold rise in paid subscribers during 2025, with users engaging with the app an average of four times daily. Current partnerships include the National Foundation for Credit Counselling, the largest non-profit financial counseling organization in the U.S., and Progressive Insurance, the second-largest auto insurer in the country, serving over 37 million customers.

Future Prospects and Vision

Looking ahead, Piere aims to leverage the newly acquired funding to further bolster product development, expand its engineering and growth teams, and enhance its collaborations with financial institutions. Shuminer envisions a future where “self-driving money” is the norm, allowing finances to self-optimize based on individual goals and values. He expressed that the startup’s ambition is to become the primary financial operating system for Millennials and Generation Z, ensuring that money moves intelligently and automatically.

Reflecting on the transformative potential of Piere, Khurjekar remarked that such a fundamental reimagining of personal finance is a rarity in the evolving fintech landscape. He noted that the infrastructure Piere provides for “self-driving money” is particularly crucial for younger generations, granting them the opportunity to harness the benefits of AI in managing and saving their finances effectively.
