Summit Bank strengthens its Eugene and Springfield presence by appointing Jamie Louie-Smith and Heather Gabbert to key roles in the organization.

Summit Bank Welcomes New Leadership

In a recent announcement, Summit Bank (OTCID: SBKO) has revealed the appointment of two new executives to its Eugene and Springfield team. Jamie Louie-Smith takes on the role of Senior Vice President and Business Client Advisor, while Heather Gabbert steps in as Vice President and Market Development Officer. This strategic move aims to bolster the bank’s local expertise and enhance its service offerings to clients in the region.

Experience and Community Involvement

Jamie Louie-Smith brings a wealth of experience in banking, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, nonprofits, and affordable housing. Her previous roles include serving as a Commercial Banking Officer at a regional bank and as the Chief Financial Officer for a healthcare nonprofit. Additionally, Louie-Smith is actively involved in her community as the Board Treasurer for the Lane Community Health Council and has held leadership positions with organizations like Kids FIRST and Serenity Lane. An alumna of the University of Oregon and the Western Banking School, she is well-prepared to address the financial needs of local businesses.

On the other hand, Heather Gabbert brings over ten years of experience in relationship banking and branch leadership. Her extensive background in the banking industry is complemented by her community engagement through initiatives with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club of Emerald Valley and Food for Lane County. Gabbert, who is a graduate of the Leadership Eugene Springfield program, serves on its Steering Committee. Her accolades include being named a finalist for the 2025 Women Business Leader and recognized as a “20 Under 40” Rising Business Star by the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce.

A Shared Vision for Community Impact

Both executives expressed excitement about their new roles and the opportunity to contribute to the bank’s mission. They described their return to a bank rooted in Lane County as a significant moment in their careers. They believe their combined expertise will enhance the bank’s ability to meet the specific needs of family-owned businesses and mission-driven organizations in the area.

Piotrek Buciarski, the Commercial Team Lead, emphasized the advantages of having Louie-Smith and Gabbert onboard, noting that their insights into various sectors will provide clients with better access to banking services tailored to their daily challenges. This strategic hiring is seen as a positive development for the bank’s operations and client interactions.
