As part of its post-restructuring strategy, French label Ba&sh has appointed luxury retail expert Jimmy Lam to the new role of CEO for Asia-Pacific.
In a decisive move to anchor its global turnaround strategy, French fashion brand Ba&sh is intensifying its focus on the Asia-Pacific region. The company has appointed veteran luxury retail executive Jimmy Lam as its new Chief Executive Officer for the region, a critical step in its plan to accelerate growth following a significant corporate restructuring.
Lam will operate from Hong Kong and will be responsible for leading the brand’s strategy and operations across its key Asian markets. He will report to Ba&sh Co-CEO Dan Arrouas, who is leading the company’s revival alongside co-founders Sharon Krief and Barbara Boccara.
A Strategic Hire for a Critical Market
This appointment is central to the brand’s “New Beginnings” turnaround plan, which was initiated after the founders regained control of the company in 2024. The strategy prioritizes operational discipline, a renewed focus on full-price sales, and strengthening regional leadership to drive sustainable growth. The Asia-Pacific region has been identified as a territory with immense potential, making Lam‘s role pivotal to the brand’s future success. He is tasked with localizing the brand’s unique Parisian identity for diverse markets like China, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
An Established Leader in Luxury Retail
Jimmy Lam‘s extensive background makes him uniquely qualified for the position. He joins Ba&sh from SMCP Asia, where he served as CEO for nine years, overseeing the expansion of contemporary fashion brands Sandro, Maje, and Claudie Pierlot. His career is further distinguished by senior leadership roles at some of the world’s most prestigious luxury houses, including LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, and S.T. Dupont, as well as high-end retailer Harvey Nichols. This experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of the entire retail ecosystem, from operations to high-level brand strategy.
A Unified Global Leadership Vision
Co-CEO Dan Arrouas affirmed the strategic value of the hire, highlighting Lam‘s unique combination of deep market insight in Asia, proven brand-building skills, and talent for leading diverse teams as essential assets for the company’s future.
Lam himself conveyed a strong sense of purpose for his new position, speaking to the brand’s distinctive identity and global potential. He identified the Asia-Pacific as a region of immense opportunity and expressed his intent to leverage the brand’s strong foundation to accelerate growth and forge deeper customer bonds.
This move in Asia mirrors the company’s recent leadership reinforcement in North America, where former Iro CEO Rahav Zuta was appointed to lead operations in April. Together, these appointments demonstrate a cohesive global strategy to empower regional experts to drive localized growth. Ba&sh, which currently operates 320 stores and generated 300 million euros in revenue last year, is positioning itself for a new chapter of international expansion.
